413.   Bereavement Leave

Full-time regular employees may take up to 3 days off work for the death of a spouse, registered domestic partner, civil union relationship, child, parent, sibling or comparable step-relation, and up to 1 day off work for the death of a grandparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt or uncle. The eligible time off will be paid. Contact your supervisor and the Human Resources Department as soon as possible when you need to request time off for bereavement leave. Employees are required to fill out a bereavement leave form provided by the Human Resources Department. Bereavement leave must be taken within ninety (90) days of the loss.
